Jennifer Hudson Helps Open Up The Smith Center


Singing her heart out while showing off her thin bod, Jennifer Hudson performed at the opening night of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday (March 10).
The bright red lipped “American Idol” alum wore a glistening black dress with lace on top as she took the stage while backed by a 70-member choir to close out the show with a rendition of “Take Care of This House.”
With Neil Patrick Harris hosting the festivities, other acts taking the stage during the course of the celebratory fete included country star Martina McBride and Train lead singer Pat Monahan, who teamed up for a medley featuring “Marry Me” and “A Song For You,” as well as Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. who treated the audience to a “Pancho and Lefty” duet.
Commenting on the successful show, Myron Martin, President and CEO of The Smith Center, told press, “Tonight we celebrated more than the opening of The Smith Center. We celebrated this community’s commitment to the arts and to creating something important and lasting for the people who live here and for generations to come.”
