Looks like Zoe Saldana could be the next big name to join Christian Bale in an upcoming revenge thriller set in the 1970’s.
The dark film is set in 1986 Indiana and tells the story of Slim (Bale), a newly free man who wants to fulfil his promise to his long-suffering girlfriend by marrying her.
However, when he discovers his brother has been murdered after getting involved in a gambling racket, his goals change and he avenges the murder.
Saldana is set to play Slim’s ex-wife, who now works as a waitress and is married in the town’s sheriff.
Robert Duvall is expected to play Slim’s uncle, and Viggo Mortensen is circling the villain role, while Casey Affleck is the frontrunner to portray the brother.
Saldana is currently working on the yet-untitled Star Trek sequel set to hit theaters May 17
