Beyonce To Be Joined By Tom Cruise In “A Star is Born”



According to Variety with no specific details given, Tom Cruise is the latest name being rumored to play opposite Beyonce in Clint Eastwood‘s remake of A Star is Born.
When Beyonce became pregnant in 2011, the film was put on hold. Now that a few months have gone by since giving birth to a girl, Beyonce is back in the mix of doing films, having signed on to appear with Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, and Cameron Diaz in Ryan Murphy’s musical, ‘ One Hit Wonders.’
Cruise is the latest amongst Hollywood’s leading men to be courted for the ‘A Star is Born’. The last name tossed around came in June 2011 when Deadline reported that Leonardo DiCaprio was in the running. 
The story about a an famed aging, alcoholic musician who mentors/is schooled by and then finds romance with a younger female star was first done in 1937 with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. Judy Garland and James Mason starred in the 1954 remake, and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson were in the 1976 version.
