Jada Pinkett-Smith is launching a new TV talent show with American Idol star Simon Cowell.
The pair will set out on a hunt for the world’s best DJs.
Pinkett Smith commented: “This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent. I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell, the Sony team, and my partner Miguel Melendez, on behalf of the Overbrook family.”
“We have been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people,” Cowell said. “As soon as I met Jada and Miguel from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners.”
The X Factor judge added: “DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.”
What makes the new show unique is that it is being touted as an ‘international’ hunt for talent, as opposed to the national and regional series TV viewers are used to seeing.
While it isn’t know how many countries will be involved in the search, the press release added that SYCO, OE and Sony Pictures Television will announce their broadcast partners in the UK and the US shortly.
